Breakfast is downstairs. There's no Special K cereal so it's Swedish pancakes for both of us. They are kind of like crepes, but unfortunately, they are not warm. Karen puts cinnamon and sugar on them, because the strawberries look bad. Of course, they had Nutella also. Karen had a smoothie that was ok.
We looked at the weather and it looked like rain later in the day, so we decided to do our canal boat tour first. Just a short walk from the hotel. We got tickets for the 11:00 tour.
There is a live guide who stands in the front of the boat telling us about the history of Gothenburg. We go through the canal out into the harbor and back making a counterclockwise circle. The canal we start and end in is the original defensive moat for the city.
It was a 50 minute tour and the harbor was very windy and choppy today.
One bridge that we went under was so low we had to get out of our seats and sit on the floor to go under it. Quite the adventure.
We grabbed a sub sandwich at Subway, then took a walk through Tradgardsforeningen Park. It's a nice park with a tropical greenhouse containing palm trees and tropical plants from around the world.
Then we walked through some neighborhoods and by some shops. Haven't bought anything since we mailed the package, but like to see what's available in different countries.
Today we saw a Woolrich from Pennsylvania store, interesting. We walked around until 4:00 then came back to the room.
Went back out at 5:30 for dinner at McDonald's, just down the street, and Karen had a Caesar salad. Too much food at restaurants all the time so we go to the fast food places so we can order less. Back to the room to write this up and look at some more D23 EXPO schedules.
So when is this adventure coming to an end? Looks like a great adventure.
