No tours today because we were going on our own walking tour out to the gondola and the funicular, but it's really raining and too foggy to do either the gondola or the funicular.
So we walk around the Rosenkrantz Tower (not open) and around the Hanseaic area.
We walked up near the funicular to see where it goes because it starts out in a tunnel.
So we start walking up to the second station up stairs and through the neighborhood.
You can board here or get off, you can also buy tickets here in a machine.
Took some pictures and then walked back to the waterfront and took pictures across the harbor to the Old Hansiatic area.
Found a couple of chip clips for our snack bags of nuts and M & M's and a great recommendation for lunch from the ladies who worked at the store.
We ate at Brasserie Lido. I had a burger with au gratin potatoes. Brian had Salmon with the au gratin potatoes and Pat had Rock Fish Bacalao ala Bergen.
After lunch it was still raining, so we walked around town past our hotel where we will be staying for our Bergen Norway in a Nutshell tour.
We continued exploring and came to the King Olav Square and then to the lake, Lille Lungegardsvannet.
From here we could see the building at the top of the funicular.
So we decided to go up the Floibanen Funicular at 2:00 and try our luck with the fog. We made it three fourths the way up before we were fogged in.
At the top all you could see was what was at the top. Just over the railing is where the fog started.
We walk over to a place Brian found on the internet, Tubakuba, a funky little off-the-grid place in the woods hidden at the top of the Floibanen Funicular. It's a place you can stay over night.
While we are up here we had an ice cream bar in the restaurant. The fog is still here.
We decided it was time to go back down.
The first shop in the Hanseatic area had a good selection of sweaters and clothes. Pat found a T-shirt and Brian found a nice Dale of Norway sweater.
Back on board about 4:15 just before all aboard at 4:30. Watched sail away. Did laundry. Then had dinner in the Lido, Lobster. The first two halves were awesome, the second two were just ok.
After dinner we did Trivia. We did much better today getting 8 with Brian's help. Went to the game room and played a game of Scrabble. Brian won.
