05-26 Last Day at Sea on Rotterdam

It's our last day on the ship 🚢. We sleep in and then Karen organizes the laundry from last night.

Pat brings breakfast back, two boxes of cereal and Karen has a banana in the room. Our cabin guy keeps two bananas in our room every day, because they are not available in the breakfast area upstairs.

They have hand sanitizer all over this ship, not just in the dining rooms. There's some out by the pool/ping pong 🏓, Dutch shuffleboard area, which is great because people are starting to get in the habit of using them.

At 11:00 there was a ping pong tournament. Pat was in the finals and lost. Brian played for third place and won.

By the time the tournament finished, the taco place was open for lunch. Very good tacos 🌮 here with chicken, salsa, cheese, and chips.

After lunch we went to Location Trivia where the questions and pictures are based on the places we visited on this week of the cruise. We did very well, getting about 3 correct answers more than the 2nd place team. Our reward was another set of three Holland America pins with "Mediterranean" on them.

After two weeks cruising our evening routine is set at dinner, ping pong, trivia, and maybe the night's show.

Tonight we attended Music Trivia again. It was 50's and 60's music - you know, the songs you can sing all of the words to. You might know the title, but who can remember that it was the Del-Vikings that sang it and not Deon and the Belmonts. He only plays about 5-10 seconds of the song. We came in second with 24 out of 36 points. Here's a picture of our nightly Trivia guy, Coen. He was great. He'd only been on the job since we got on the ship two weeks ago. He went back and forth from English to Dutch like they were a single language.

Our Day at Sea was completely shrouded in fog until just before sunset. We are in our own little world all day long on the ship, hearing the fog horn every two minutes.

We decided to take advantage of the evening sunset and take a family picture. What a hoot. Brian sets up his camera and his tripod at the back of the boat. He can control the camera with his iPhone. Many people are walking by asking if we would like help. I don’t think Brian was ever happy with the results, but this is the best one of the 50 pictures he sent me.
